Linda Roddy - Obituary

Ms. Linda Carol Theresa Knebel Roddy, age 74 of Katy, TX passed away of natural causes at 1:32 am on July 22nd, 2022. She was surrounded by her loving family, daughter Gina Crickmer, son-in-law Kyle Crickmer, and granddaughter Riley Crickmer. She is survived by her immediate family and by the many loved ones and family members whose life she touched.

Linda was born on March 3rd, 1948 in El Campo, TX to Raymund and Leona Knebel. She was a mother and grandmother, aka Gammie.

She had a huge heart and often gave more than she could afford. Linda would always put others before herself. She loved animals and was affectionately known as the “Treat Lady”. There was always a treat in her pocket and that’s why the family dog, Bill, was always right at her heels.

Linda was a great cook. Growing up Gina had fond memories of Linda cooking fried chicken or chicken fried steak for her and all of her friends on Sundays. A generation later, Linda would cook for her granddaughter, Riley, and her daughter’s new family. Food was a way Linda conveyed love. She would spoil everyone she loved with fried foods and gravies.

Gina, Kyle, and Riley Crickmer were blessed to have Linda in their home for the last 7 years of her life. Linda was able to watch her granddaughter grow and be a part of their family. Linda touched more lives than could ever know. Anyone that was lucky enough to know Linda Roddy, her giving nature, and her selflessness should count themselves lucky.

Her family - Gina, Kyle, and Riley Crickmer, will forever miss Linda. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that a small donation be made in her name to CAPS (Citizens for Animal Protection).
